Just a quick post here, because I am feeling a bit low and want to perk myself up. I feel low because I just got off the phone with my wonderful mother-in-law, and she's feeling sad and missing her precious husband on such a beautiful spring day. I love her so much, and I wish I could help her through her grief more than I do.
Things I love.......
looking out the front door and seeing a masterpiece of chalk drawings all over my driveway and sidewalk
Friday nights, when I know that I am facing two entire days of having my whole family home with me
when Anna tells me some factoid she's learned in school, earnestly believing that *I* don't know that fact.......(such as-Mom, *I* know why caterpillars make cocoons)
when Abby lets me do some type of personal care for her without screaming or crying. This morning she let me clean up her sore nose and didn't make a peep. I felt good taking care of her, filling a need she had, without being screamed at or scratched because she doesn't understand that I am not hurting her on purpose
snuggling my bambino while the fluffy hair on top of his head tickles my nose as he sleeps on my chest
There's so much more, but I needed to get a few of them written down.
