Too much walking

Abby's autism "school" has been in the process of moving this week. Instead of having programming, they have had a fun week. Today they went to the zoo. Since we live only 10 minutes from there, I kept her home and we met them there. Why??? We have a membership and can go anytime...as in, NOT on a Friday in July. @@ Rolling eyes at myself, lol. The girls did have a great time, but 4 hours of walking is too much for me. It was a beautiful day-low 80's, lots of sunshine...but it was humid and the sun was hot after walking in it for so long. Now I am tired and sore. We rode the carousel twice though. :-D Then I went to work this evening. The little guy I worked with tonight, TB, is six, the same age as my Annalise. He has curly black hair and creamy colored cafe au lait skin. He's just beautiful. He was so funny. He figured out that his shadow is *him*. He was jumping on his bed, watching his shadow jump too and laughing hysterically at himself. This went on for at least ten minutes, until he was completely hot and exhausted...but still giggling. His therapist and I really enjoyed seeing this totally nonverbal, usually self-abusive little boy having so much fun. It's why I love what I do, those little magical moments like that.
