A Milestone Day

Today, Little Big Man turned 6 months old. In celebration, he began clapping his hands together. He's been trying this for a while now, but today finally got those hands open so he's really clapping. He began patting us while we hold him last week, then started patting his toys, now each hand to the other. Can you tell he was trying to get my camera in the one "action" shot up there? LOL He's so funny. He never sits still for a second.

He also spent a good ten minutes sitting up by himself. He's been sitting for at least a few moments at a time for a few weeks now, but he finally is getting good enough to sit up and reach for toys, etc...without automatically falling over. He's still pretty wobbly at times though. :)

And, drumroll please......he woke up with his first tooth poked through! I still can't see it, but you can feel it when you put your finger in there. He had a big crying spell yesterday evening that sounded like he was in a lot of pain, so I wasn't surprised a bit when that little toofer was there. Annalise has had a tooth ready to fall out for 2 weeks now and it will.not.fall.out., but little brother has managed to grow one.

I can't believe it's been six months already. Little Ian, thank you for being you. Thank you for joining our family. Thank you for your sweet smiles and giggles. Thank you for eating my face and laughing while you do it. I choose to believe that baby spit is a great anti-wrinkle potion. :-D I have fun, fun, fun all day long with him.

Annalise finished first grade. She's now officially a second grader. I can't believe how time flies. She's sad to leave behind the best first grade teacher, ever, but she's excited to move forward too. As evidence of her continuing good luck, she won a bazillion Tootsie Rolls at her end of year school ice cream social last week. She had to guess how many Tootsie Rolls were in a big plastic box. She guessed 818.....and she won. This from the kid who also won the 6 foot tall mesh Christmas stocking from the PTO Tinseltown affair back in December. She's so lucky!

Abby is doing well. She's still eating her hair, but overall she is hanging in there and not introducing any new wacky behaviors for me to fret over.

I must send my congratulations to my online friend Lisa. Today she saw her baby's heartbeat for the first time. What a thrill. I am SO happy for you, Lisa. I'm continuing to send sticky baby vibes and good thoughts your way.
